There's no set rule on how many carats a full eternity ring should be. It's entirely down to personal preference. If you choose diamonds with a larger carat, then less of them will be needed around the band, whereas if you choose diamonds with smaller carats, there'll need to be more.
The general rule of thumb is to spend two or three months' salary on a full eternity ring. However, we'd suggest spending what you feel most comfortable spending and recommend prioritising the colour and clarity of a diamond eternity ring rather than the carat.
