Both gold and silver tones are great options to wear with anything. Which one you choose might depend on your skin’s undertone – cooler undertones suit silver shades, while warm undertones glow with gold.
To find your undertone, take a look at the veins on the inside of your wrist. If the veins look blue, you likely have a cool undertone, so will suit silver, platinum, or white gold jewellery the best. If your veins appear green-hued, you have a warm undertone, so yellow gold jewellery will look best on you. If your veins look like a mixture of the two or on the purple side, you actually have a neutral undertone and will suit all kinds of jewellery!
Platinum and gold are some of the best ring materials for everyday wear, as both are durable and non-reactive.
Platinum diamond rings rarely get damaged thanks to the durability of the metal, and they also retain their colour, meaning you won't need to replace them, and their shine won't fade over time. If you come across some scratches or tarnishing, a jeweller can polish them out.
Yellow gold and rose gold are also good options as the alloy metals give the gold some extra durability. However, white gold can lose its lustre over time and will require extra upkeep to ensure it keeps its colour and shine.
